Back in January of this year, the Santa Barbara Buddhist Temple was kind enough to open their doors to us and allow us to use their serene and beautiful place of prayer and meditation for our Aikido training. Now we’re going to give back to the members of the temple in the best way we know how – by giving them a demonstration on May 16th at 2:45, right after their worship service.
The Japanese temple is unassumingly tucked away, back from the street over on the east side of Santa Barbara. Before moving to its current home however, it was was located in what used to be Santa Barbara’s thriving Chinatown, which occupied a bustling three-block area along east Canon Perdido Street.
Please join the temple members and us for a demonstration of Aikido – “The Art of Peace” – and experience the wonderful atmosphere at this lovely and completely authentic Buddhist temple that we’re fortunate to have here in this California beach community nestled between the mountains and the ocean.
