“May you make your life from a pattern
Designed and re-designed by your heart.”

~ Larry Crandell, Sr.

Our Executive Director and Head Instructor, Lia Suzuki, had a very positive meeting today with the man whom the press often refers to as “Mr. Santa Barbara”, Larry Crandell, Sr.  Over the past 4 decades, Mr. Crandell has been instrumental in the success of countless nonprofit organizations and charities in Santa Barbara.  As a community leader and preeminent emcee, he has raised what some estimate to be over $200 million for the betterment of our community.

Topics discussed included the current status and workings of the AKSB Board of Directors, our Summer Campaign fundraiser, and as anyone who knows Larry might guess, Life and Love.

From his book, Silver Tongue, Secrets of Mr. Santa Barbara:

Nothing equals love.
May it define your home, your journey and your destination.
And may it help you appreciate and enjoy the people around you.

With love, Larry

The exact nature of Mr. Crandell’s involvement with Aikido Kenkyukai Santa Barbara has yet to be defined, but suffice it to say that he’s “on our team.”

The next meeting will take place on Saturday, July 4th at 6:30am.  (Yikes, that’s early! – And yes, that’s Independence Day.)
