Kids Belt Ceremony and After-party

The first-ever AKSB kids belt ceremony and after-party was a big success. Kids got public recognition for their recent achievements at the August testing. Parents got more confirmation of just how important goal setting and pursuit is for their children. There were short speeches by Lia Sensei and Matt Sensei after handing out certificates and belts.

As our volunteer Emily, was busy procuring refreshments donated by local businesses, she had no chance to take photos and video. If anyone would like to volunteer for this job at the next ceremony, please let Emily know and she’ll get the word to our volunteer coordinator.

A special thanks goes out to our sponsors and volunteers for the event:

  • Coffee Cat
  • Jack’s Bistro & Famous Bagels
  • The Thompson Family
  • Emily Carli
