Dear friends,
Aikido Kenkyukai Santa Barbara is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded this year. The board members, volunteers, and other members of the community have each launched their own grassroots fundraisers on behalf of the organization here.
The nonprofit provides a fun activity for kids, with underlying principles of peaceful resolution of conflict. We’re partnering with groups such as Boys and Girls Club, Santa Barbara Police Activities League, Girls Inc (Girls Incorporated of Greater Santa Barbara), etc. to provide underprivileged and at-risk children with aikido training and mentoring. Our goal is to provide sponsorships for all of the boys and girls in these agencies who want to participate. Currently, we have limited funds to finance this endeavor, and therefore are calling on you for your help.
