Dear friends,

I have just 3 more days to reach my goal of $5,000 for the kids at Aikido Kenkyukai Santa Barbara! I’m almost there!

Please help out and click now to contribute. Remember, any amount helps. Really.  Even just the price of a couple latte’s…

On my Grassroots Fundraiser page, you’ll see a video which was produced in January of this year, listing the organization’s accomplishments and activities in 2009. Since then, of course, even more exciting things have transpired. For example:
  • We were once again interviewed on KPMR TV to reach out to the Latino population of Santa Barbara.
  • Our kids and adults volunteered their time by giving a demonstration for the Fighting Back Mentor Program of the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse.
  • We offered a free class for teens in collaboration with the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse’s “Free for the Weekend” event.
  • We’ve connected with Aikido dojo and organizations in Japan, Canada, Arizona, New York City, Chile, Uruguay, Australia, and other locations and invited them to send kids from their dojo to our kids’ summer camp, possibly making the event an international one.
  • We’ve begun finding sponsors for the Cordero Family, a Santa Barbara family-in-need, with three boys who love aikido training but have hit hard times.
  • Etc.
There are many more developments we’d love to tell you about. Please visit our web site or drop in at the dojo anytime to hear more and get involved. In the meantime, please give however much you can to help us continue developing these programs.

Thank you in advance,
