Greetings!
My name is Catrina Cummings and I am one of the new Media Relations interns for Aikido Kenkyukai. I am a senior studying Sociocultural Linguistics and Russian at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I became interested in working for Aikido Kenkyukai after watching a video of Sensei Lia Suzuki working with students at the dojo. I had never heard of Aikido as a martial art prior but I was quickly impressed with the fluidity and flexibility that Aikido exhibited.
Although it is only my first day as an intern I have already gained valuable experience from working with Lia Suzuki and I am excited to see what the rest of my time with Aikido Kenkyukai will bring. I hope to aid in the expansion of the organization so that Aikido may be able to reach Santa Barbarians all over the county and beyond.
