The McKinley School was unable to pay the salary of their beloved gym teacher. They had a fundraiser and asked Aikido Kenkyukai to donate their time by giving an aikido demonstration.

“Gasshou” (putting the palms together) We invite people from age 3 to 100 (aikido practitioners and non-practitioners, alike) to sit in meditation/prayer/silence between the teens & adults beginners class. Proceeds to benefit Japan Tragedy survivors.

Members from the adults' class took a trip to Japan, where they had the opportunity to train with Takeda Sensei and other AKI instructors. The trip culminated with participation in the annual spring training and demonstration with the Doshu (grandson of the founder of aikido) at the famous Hachiman Shrine.
